Teaching & Group Projects

I
love teaching and inspiring groups of people to create together. I am currently offering classes at Amazon Community Center, where I enjoy passing on my passion for clay to children and adults. Offerings for summer term start at the end of June. I will be teaching Surface Decoration and Handbuilt Tableware on Tuesday afternoon and a Wheel-throwing class Tuesday evenings.

As an Artist-in-Residence, I have  just completed a tile project at Seneca School in eastern Oregon this spring. The pictures below show students at work and the final installation (in the girls' and  boys' bathrooms!). I also did a mosaic drinking fountain with students at a high school in California.

I taught Ceramics and Art at North Eugene High School for 11 years, and one of my favorite parts of that experience was the group projects we did. These included  a 6’ x 10’ mural that was installed in the main lobby of the school and a courtyard fountain. Both of these were based on student designs.
