I love texture. These textures are by and large not carved, but rather rolled or stamped in with tools which I have made. I also use seeds, shells, nail heads, chopsticks  and other found objects to create these varied surfaces. Most recently, I have been adding textured elements to thrown ware to create combination pots. Some of these have been fired in oxidation, others in gas reduction or wood fired kilns. The textured tea sets are fun to make and to use.
